About Me

From a young age, creativity has always been at the heart of my story. I began sewing at just twelve years old at the Art Explorium in Kaimukī, where I discovered the joy of bringing fabric to life with my own hands. After school, my papa would take me to Kaimukī Dry Goods, where we’d spend hours choosing fabric, the colors, textures, and patterns that would shape my early designs.

When I moved to San Diego for college, my mom continued to ship me Palaka and vintage Hawaiian fabrics every month, keeping me connected to home through every stitch. Over time, I realized that sewing had become more than a hobby, it was part of my identity. Ames Collective was born from that passion, family support, and the desire to celebrate Hawai‘i’s timeless craftsmanship through slow fashion.

Every Ames Collective piece is hand-sewn from start to finish. No mass production, just patience, purpose, and aloha in every thread.
